Like many photographers, my interest in photography started with my first child - I wanted to remember everything about her baby days. That was 12 years ago.
For a long time, I was more than happy with my point & shoot and its results. Eventually I started wanting to get better photos, asked around and bought my first DSLR, I read a bit, did a couple of online courses, got a little bit better and I was happy again.
Fast forward a few years and I realised I hadn't progressed at all from when I got my DSLR. If I wanted to get better, I'd have to do something. Like joining a camera club. From the time I joined a Malahide Camera Club, 2 and 1/2 years ago, photography went from being a little hobby to something I feel passionate about.
Between the Camera Club and the community in ILP (http://ilovephotography.com/) , I have found the resources and the community that pushes me forward.
I am taking the scenic route, learning slowly, making mistakes on the way, but in the last year or so I started to see the progress I have been yearning for.
There's so much I need to learn, but I am loving the journey and I hope you will like what you see.
